Exercise Physiology is an allied health profession which uses exercise to treat injuries, illnesses and a range of chronic diseases. An Accredited Exercise Physiologist is university qualified and can assist in improving mobility and functionality to enhance an individual’s quality of life.
An Exercise Physiologist does not diagnose however they make observations and perform a range of tests to help identify problems & work with the patron to provide the appropriate exercise treatment moving forward.
A combination of both aerobic and resistance exercise has also shown to be effective on cardiovascular and metabolic health in the management of many chronic diseases.
Aerobic and resistance exercise, stretching and balance training has shown to be effective in the rehabilitation of various musculoskeletal conditions and pain management. Exercise rehabilitation improves joint stability, mobility and strength following a musculoskeletal injury, illness or operation.
